Hi Students, I am a Senior Data analyst. I hold a PhD degree in Biosciences from the University of Nottingham, UK. Through my PhD and work experience I acquired analytical and data management skills which allowed me to gain experience in analysing and managing large volumes of datasets. Although my expertise lies in Life Sciences/Healthcare, the skills I gained are highly transferable and can be applied to other fields of study. For example, I am highly skilled in statistics, databases, data mining, manipulation, cleaning, visualisation, and processing. I have experience in developing code for data processing using Python/R and performing complex statistical analysis and inference (Hypothesis testing, Multivariate regression, Logistic Regression, Elastic-Net etc). I have worked on various projects that required complex analysis. For example, I focused on probing the evolution and heterogeneity of follicular lymphoma using single-cell RNA-seq. Various statistical approaches were applied to draw meaningful conclusions. I have published several papers on NGS analysis in a high impact factor journals. I have recently published a work in which I have co-designed and built a deep neural network-based tool for discovering the components of signalling pathways from genomic datasets.
Queen Mary University of London (Mar, 2019–Present) at Barts Cancer Institute, London
I am a Bioinformatician at the Barts Cancer Institute in the Centre for Cancer Genomics and Computational Biology working on the development of pipelines for NGS data analysis, including mutational calling, Single-Cell RNA-seq, ChIP peak calling, variant annotation and prioritisation, as well as multi-layer data integration strategy and tools. The main purpose of the job is to provide informatics expertise and lead the informatics and computational components of on-going research activities and also support grant applications from the institute. I am responsible for implementing the existing in-house analytic pipelines and set up new methods / algorithms for cancer multi-omics data analysis.
NIAB/University of Cambridge (Nov, 2017–Feb, 2019) at National Institute of Agricultural Botany, Cambridge, UK
Providing bioinformatics expertise. Genome assembly, Genome upgrading, variant calling and genome annotation for 100 accessions of cassava wild relatives.
