I believe that the most important aspect while tutoring, apart from the tutor’s expertise in the subject and tutoring skills, is to have a good rapport with the student and make the student feel comfortable. So, I spend the first few classes understanding the nature of the student and making him/her feel comfortable with me and also with the subject matter. Then the student can really appreciate the core concepts of mathematics rather than just learning some problem-solving techniques.

I help the students grasp the subject matter in a way that they can solve the quizzes and practice problems on their own without external help. Further I test the students by giving practice questions of different varieties to understand where they may be facing difficulty in applying a particular concept and help them in that area. And of course, I will be giving regular feedback regarding their performance.

All these together will give a comfortable and fulfilling learning experience to the student.
