Teaching sociology and other humanities subjects for over 20 years, and to a diversified group of students, I can confidently say that teaching is not only imparting knowledge but is also a great source of satisfaction for an individual who keeps learning at the highest level of human capacity. It involves opening the new paths for a novice mind to a world of knowledge, inspiration and innovation. Talking in terms of some of my personal moments of feeling blessed to be a teacher, here are few leafs from my past. Be it the O level class at The City School where I came across a group of uber talented girls, who, through their curiosity and yearning for knowledge always pushed me to give them something extra, or the Baccalaureate class at the Greenwich university, teaching the themes like cultural diversity and social identities, it just kept happening naturally. The debates, discussions and even assessments took us to accelerate the learning process. Alhamdulillah for all this. I hope this continues that I keep touching students, lives to be better individuals in sha Allah.
