The COVID-19 situation has brutally reminded us that we are living in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world. In these disruptive times, we as teachers have realised the need to dynamically re-define and re-design our pedagogical approach.
By anticipating the VUCA conditions of the students, I am prepared to re-strategise the teaching methodologies and explore new methods of imparting education, in the most relevant yet engaging manner. I design my teaching plan in a dynamic way, by creating assignments, assessments, lectures and notes to optimize the learning process and the learning outcomes of my students. I strive to update the learning material to be in sync with the new developments in the field, while ensuring that the fundamentals concepts are concise and clear. Almost 10 years of teaching experience, has strengthened my belief that learning is a two-way process. To be a good teacher, I first seek to be a good learner. I always try to learn and understand the abilities and expectations of the student, and keep them focussed and motivated. I re-organise my approach as I actively seek feedback on my teaching.
