Currently teaching primary and secondary level history and english based on the Malaysian curriculum. I strongly believe that reading and taking notes while studying is vital; especially when studying history. Different students have differing styles of writing notes and unique note writing techniques will assist students in understanding and remembering what they study better.
For studying English, practicing reading, writing, speaking, and listening is essential to improving communication skills in English. Storytelling is not only a useful tool for learning and improving language skills, it is also helpful when studying history as listeners would be able to have an immersive experience in learning history. Exam based questions are also important for gauging a student’s level of comprehension.
