Hi there! My name is Andrew, but you can call me Andy for short.

I am a tutor focusing on Math and Science, especially Chemistry. I started off as an ESL tutor in an online platform way back in 2010, but I have enjoyed tutoring students for academic subjects since 2011.

As for my teaching style, I always ask my students about the topic that they want to focus on first thing upon meeting. Then while teaching, I always use examples and draw diagrams to explain the concepts as visually as possible.

When performing mathematical processes, I always make the students do things step by step, making several rewrites of the process until the answer is reached. For problem solving in Science, it is always an imperative for me to show to the student the derivation of the formula and the dimensional analysis to make sure that the final answer is expressed in the correct unit.

I always show the fundamental or the academic solution first so the student understands the process. Then, where applicable, I can provide "shortcut" solutions that I know of so the student appreciates the brevity of the shortcut.

What makes me different is that I always emphasize understanding the material over making high scores. I always believe that the high scores will only be worth it if the student understands the concept.

    800 - GCSA A and AS level Math and Science, College-level Science and Math

    Rate is commensurate with the grade level as higher grade level means more rigorous lessons and requirements.

    All pertinent references and syllabi or course outlines should be provided by the student to ensure that my tutoring style matches the teacher's.
