With my vast experience in teaching 8.4.4 in public and private schools and IGCSE IN private coupled with 17 yours of teaching biology i believe am capable of imparting knowledge skills and attitudes into students to prepare them for their future.
I believe in seeing is believing incorporate photographs, micro photographs, animations and videos in lesson interactions. Study questions involved are to allow students to interact with concepts. Emphasis assignment after a presentation helps students map up important or new concepts for them to understand them. Research work is to allow students to integrate concepts with reality and to enhance curiosity and innovation.
I use power point for my presentations as it incorporates the above efficiently.
As for evaluation i believe concept mapping is best done using short quizzes, this is then followed by an exam to test on recall.
Practical work is important for students to to establish the interaction between nature life. I therefore expose students to practical work.
Guiding and counseling is an issue that needs to be incorporated into teaching due to the ravaging drug abuse, sexuality and common issues that entangle the youth thus interfering with their concentration in academics. I therefore consider relating what i am teaching to the contemporary world to guide students to the best of of my knowledge.
