I graduated with a First Class degree (GPA = 3.91)with Mathematics (Pure Mathematics & Applied Mathematics)Specialization from the Univesity of Kelaniya. I specialized in Mathematics (Pure Mathematics & Applied Mathematics) at the university for 4 years and my minor subject was physics. Also, I did Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science courses at the university as well.
Moreover, I worked as a Tutor for the (for undergraduate students) Mathematics department at the university for more than 1 year. Also, I conducted tuition classes for 5 years in Mathematics for Grade 6 to Ordinary Level and Advanced Level students. During those years I have gained experiences in teaching, understanding students, and delivering knowledge effectively. Further, all of the students in my classes achieved high scores in their respective Maths exams. Moreover, currently, I teach Mathematics for several students via zoom and in-person.
I do have multiple reference books in all areas in Mathematics and if you want to we can solve some of the problems in those books(related to the topics in your syllabus) as well. Further, I do have my notes in those subject areas as well. I believe those materials will be really helpful if you want to gather knowledge from them. If our plan is to stick to the materials you have, then that is also fine. I can create lesson plans that way as well.
Also, regarding English proficiency, I completed the TOEFL exam (in 2019) with a score of 82 (W-23, S-22, R-18, L-19). Further,
I scored 160/170 for the Quant Part of the GRE General Exam (2019). Also, I completed the GRE Mathematics exam (2019) with a
score of 620(42%). Further, I had a 3.0 for the Analytical Writing section in the GRE Exam.
I do have experience in online tutoring for 2 years. I use iPad and zoom screen sharing for my online classes (writing on iPad and sharing screen to zoom on Macbook).
Also, prior to starting the class, we can discuss (via zoom or in-person)objectives, lesson plans, homework, process, weekly/monthly goals, etc. In my current classes I do inform parents after each teaching session about what I taught on that session and also I give homework each week to the student. During the week I mark that homework and send it back to them through email. Then if there is anything difficult, different, or interesting in the homework I'll definitely discuss/ solve that with the student in the following class.
