Hello! You can call me Teacher Marijes from the Philippines. Upon gauging if we will click as student (you) and teacher (me), I will surely be more than happy to impart to you my knowledge about Singing, and other related Performing Arts (Dance and Acting Lessons), How to Speak Tagalog or English confidently in a Conversational way for Adults and kids alike in the convenience and comfort of your own home or wherever you are around the world. I am offering you my time, knowledge/expertise, and effort but I require my potential students to sort-of "audition" so that I can gauge or assess how much they already know regarding the subject that they are interested in. I have questionnaires for them to fill-up and answer. Then the actual audition follows. I want to make sure that we will really make the most of our time together in class. During the assessment, I will be more upfront with you to tell you exactly how I feel and how long it may take for you to get to your goal in that particular field that you want to enroll in. If I saw other talents in you that you are more capable with, I will suggest or advise you to redirect your focus on those particular strengths of yours. I am very patient, understanding, thorough, skilled, multi-talented, open-minded, approachable, and considerate/flexible Teacher. As a student, I am very diligent, resourceful, TEACHABLE, patient with my own progress (I enjoy the journey while I learn), I love learning, I am respectful, and I expect the same from my students.

I have taught Performing Arts students from 2 to 52 years of age since 1992, most of which have succeeded in the field of the performing arts and have won in their respective competitions that they have joined in. I have also taught English as a second language online in Acadsoc for one year and seven months. I also love our National Language, Tagalog as I am a Native Tagalog Speaker, Writer, Book Author, Story-Teller, and Poet on the side. I think I got some of the talent and skills of my grandpa, (RIP) Mario Mababangloob who was a respected and well-known Taliba Newspaper Associate Editor in Manila in 1967

I have been singing for 50 years now, and have 26 years of teaching experience. As a consistent Honor Student since my Elementary days, and active in co-curricular activities, championing in Talent Showcases as Choral Group Soloist and Choir Conductress, I have also joined in Poem, Essay, Extemporaneous Speech Contests and the like. I was also a member of our Editorial Staff as Literary Editor of our School Newsletter at Perpetual Help College of Rizal in Las Pinas back in the 80's, and Editor of our Research Organization Magazine. I authored several books already for our Research Organization in 1995.

I grew up in a musically and artistically inclined, American Accented English speaking Native Filipino family, so I can relate to how you may be feeling right now. I, too, have become a student myself and I know how it feels to be one. Smile because again, I will repeat that I am a patient, empathetic, encouraging motivator, mentor, teacher, coach, friend, and cheerleader all rolled into one. I may be a bit strict when it comes to the principles of discipline with regards to the particular subject that we may be engaging with, but I am really considerate and open-minded.

If you are someone who aspires to be the best that you can be in any of these fields, enhance or improve what you already have, call or message me. I'm excited to meet you virtually and have fun-field, wonderful, and fulfilling classes with you, but before that, you may want to visit my personal profile to know me a little bit better before we proceed.

My heartfelt appreciation for your time in reading my mile-long self-introduction.

Yours,
Maria Jesusa a.k.a. "Teacher Marijess" Tequillo
