SOME OF MY STUDENTS REVIEWS OF MY TEACHING:

Miss Vaishali:
The first thing that comes to my mind is her dedication. She is totally into the art form and respects the way it has been created. She does not believe in shortcuts. She gives a lot of time to each student and helps them to develop. Akka tries to get the best out of each of us. There are some students who have progressed a lot under her guidance. If somebody had been in her place they would have left after teaching us for a few days. She has motivated us to become dancers even at this age(all of us are above 25yrs).

Miss Greshma:
Jayanthi Ma'am is a well-known and well-respected Kathak and Bharatanatyam exponent. She has dedicated her life to classical dance and this speaks volumes about her love and passion for the same. But besides these qualities, she is a wonderful human being. As a student, all you expect is to learn the dance form, but she makes sure she imbibes the dance into us in its purest form. She tells us about the intricacies of the dance form which is a rare find in today's dance Gurus. Dedication, punctuality, and respect for elders are a few of the many things she has taught us in this journey with her and I will always be indebted to her for this. It has been a great learning experience and i am sure most of my dance mates will agree that she's more than special to us.

Miss Shraddha Bagaria:
Unlike what we experience in academics very often, we find Jayanthi didi- a "guru" in the true sense of the word. It amazes me to see her sincerity, dedication and selfless devotion to the art form. Also, for me what defines her as my guru is "her passion for classical dance". In the past 3 years, we have been blessed to just watch her when she teaches/performs any step for us. Her teachings are not merely restricted to dancing and she has always inspired us to be not only better dancers and more so better human beings!! The times we have spent with her are etched in our memories and we shall always cherish them. She is special as she has also been a friend and I shall always be thankful to her for adding so much to my personal life too.

Miss Aachal:
Akka is very dedicated and passionate about dance and teaching us dance. She is a perfectionist. She wants us to do our best and tries to make us as good as we can. Even if she gets angry, there is care behind that anger. Care for making us good in what we do.

Miss Semonti Bhattacharya:
Everything about her is special.
She is not just a good dancer; she is an excellent teacher too. Even in a big class she never
fails to give individual care. At every stage of learning, she knows exactly where the students
can go wrong and how to make them understand what is going wrong. She relates the dance
movements to our day-to-day movements and that makes the kathak movements more
comprehensible. Often, she gives us home tasks which makes us explore our own creativity. These exercises
keep us at bay from boredom.
For Jayanthi didi dance is not just her profession, it’s a way of life. Sometimes, she shares
anecdotes from her own life with us which keeps us inspired.
Her patience with children is remarkable. I have never seen any teacher handling children
with so much care, love and tactfulness.

Miss Manipa Saha:
I consider myself blessed to be a part of Kathak classes, something that teaches me the values of Indian cultural heritage. Honestly speaking, I was really pleasantly surprised by the training Jayanthi Didi gave us, and today I am extremely happy that I can 'try to' dance, which I was so apprehensive about. The best thing that I appreciate about Didi is her striving for perfection and excellence, which she has taught us. It is because of her that we have learnt to judge ourselves and our dance and persevere to improve it. But the biggest truth in the midst of all these is that, in spite of her scolding/strictness, we are happy that we have a great teacher, and therefore, we are always ready to try to fulfil her expectations... maybe, someday, we will be a little closer to that because we believe we will never be able to reach that destination...

Sanjeev Pasadi
She encourages the students to strive for perfection and to be disciplined. She is strict as well as amiable.

Sandeep Suravajala:

Jayanthi Didi is an important person in my life now and I consider her more than a guru. She is the one who reignited the passion for dance in me. No set of epithets can describe her. She is always willing to teach and make us practise as many times until we get it right. She is a strict teacher and that's what I like about her. Art shouldn't be learnt casually and her being strict helps us to be more perfect and dedicated to dance. She always says; there is no end or limit for perfection. There is always a scope for improvement and it can be better with practice/Riyaz. Her classes are fun and she relates every movement with a real-life example. I am really proud to be her student and I hope to be at least 1% of what she is.
