Akshaya a versatile accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer has been in the field of Bharatanatyam for more than 20 years.
She started her training under Guru Dr.S.Divyasena. She has learnt the nuances of thalam and Nattuvangam under Sri. BP Haribabu.
Akshaya also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Computer Applications from Chennai.
A Graded artiste of Doordarshan India, and recipient of several awards - Best Dancer Award from a Indian Fine Arts Society, Devadasi Yuva Nartaki Mani Puraskar.
Akshaya has performed in the prestigious Mamallapuram Dance Festival, Konark Festival and Devadasi Festival, Odisha apart from Sabhas and festivals in Chennai – to name a few Krishna Gana Sabha, Kartik Fine Arts, Indian Fine Arts Society and Dasyam festival.
Apart from rendering many solo performances, she was also a part of many group productions staged across Sabhas in Chennai during the music and dance season.
Currently she is a teacher, choreographer and a performer associated with SYAMA, Kalpavriksha fine arts and Beej in Singapore.
Within this short span of twelve years of teaching experience, she has evolved into a passionate teacher who has inspired and nurtured many young artistes to pursue this art form with immense love and dedication.
She has successfully completed her students arangetram with the blessings and presence of legendary Guru’s in Chennai.
