I'm grateful to join TeacherOn team. I'm a Kenyan secondary school teacher of English and Literature. I like using two simple teaching styles namely: the Total Physical Response approach that follows the idea of ‘learning by doing’. This is good for beginners of the language especially when teaching how the verb and subject work.Once the learner applies this, everything else will follow naturally later. The second one is Communicative Language Teaching approach which helps learners to communicate more effectively and correctly in realistic situations that they may find themselves in.It promotes etiquette in the learner's environment. The best methodology I enjoy using is learner participatory that calls for active learner interaction. For foreign students who are beginners, I use Grammar translation method to connect English with their native language for easy understanding of the content. I've had above average results of mean grade above C+ in the final exams with a number of students taking up English Teaching courses both in colleges and universities. My students taking up my profession and the subject I teach, makes me a great teacher in the society.
