Dr. Anita Mukhopadhyay is an expert of Rabindrasangeet with a strong and in-depth learning and background of Indian classical music. Anita passed BA with Honours in vocal music from Rabindra Bharati University obtaining First class First and Gold Medal. She passed MA in Rabindrasangeet from the same university and stood First class Second. She was awarded Ph D by Rabindra Bharati University for a thesis on philosophical background and perspective of Tagore songs and subsequently she published a book on “Rabindrasangeeter Tattwabhvaana aar Darshan Chintar Patobhumika”.
Anita is a regular performer of Rabindrasangeet. For ten years in 1990s, Anita was a guest lecturer of Rabindra Bharati University for teaching and training on Rabindra Sangeet. Subsequently, she had been teaching Rabindra Sangeet in Bengal Music College, Kolkata University since 2002.
Since childhood Anita learnt Rabindra Sangeet under the guidance of Subinoy Roy and Maya Sen. She has published several music albums under the supervision of Maya Sen and Subhas Chowdhury. With a total experience of around 30 years of training, Anita Mukhopadhyay is in the right position to groom and develop the students who aspire to learn and improve their singing style and ability.
