As a fully trained English teacher with numerous years of varied teaching experience, I am at a point in my career where I can take on more responsibilities. I am interested in teaching English and dedication towards this passion makes me stand out. My strong desire to attract people from various age groups can establish a rapid connection. I have the confidence to help potential students achieve their academic and nonacademic objectives. Although it is not the teacher’s job to entertain students, it is vital to engage them in the learning process. Selecting a style that addresses the needs of diverse students at different learning levels begins with a personal inventory—a self-evaluation—of the teacher’s strengths and weaknesses which I did for myself. I typically structure each of my classes to include some amount of each teaching style. However, during the first part I use more of the directing style. In the middle part I typically rely more on the discussing style. And in the latter part I generally lean more heavily on the delegating style. Using an appropriate mix of teaching styles helps students learn, grow, and become more independent. Too much reliance on one style causes students to lose interest and become overly dependent on the teacher.
