Hindustani music is something about sound the more you are able to recognise the sound the more you are proficient in it . So the voice culture in any music is very important and it also varies from music to another music. I m specialised in dhrupad and voice culture and it is said to be that dhrupad have best voice culture among other styles of Indian music.
Dhrupad is said to oldest form of music in this present time although it is written in different books about the more older forms of music but they don't exist anymore so dhrupad is the only one which is right now present as a oldest performing art form in indian classical music.
In dhrupad we have four banis nauhar,gaudhar,dagar,and khandahar. I have and m learning in dagar vani style with renowned artist of this particular style.

WHAT I TEACH

1. Hindustani classical music vocal
1.1 individual classes
1.2 group sessions (max- 5 students)
Fees charges differ from individual to group sessions kindly check further in profile for fees structure and other details.
2. From basic to advance I teach, which required demonstration lesson first to understand the vocal for students.

3. BASICS
3.1 In basics you will learn about notes ( swar/swar sthan) according to whichever raag you will learn.
3.2 raag will be followed by basic understanding of bandish (song ) to understand the raag in other aspect as well not to get bored with learning .
3.3 basics will be followed by some elementary sargam patterns ( alankaar/palta) .
3.4 some elementary rythm understanding with Saragam and song . As well taal too .
4. Students who are gonna fall under basics are suggested to atleast take twice a week class better is 3 but if student can’t make for 3 least should go for 2 every .

INTERMEDIATE
1. Students with some previous learning comes under intermediate. It will be followed by the raaga students have already learnt with some next level understanding for taal and Sargam . Rest depends on practice and how many years one have learnt, whether he/she needs some months to brush up previous learning .
2. Intermediate can go once or twice a week according to their choice .

ADVANCE
1. Full professional or trained artist falls under this . Those who are seeking help with some or the details of improvement in their vocal technique or style which they sing .
2. Advance students are suggested for once a week .

TEACHING METHODS
1. Voice culture: voice culture is more about your listening ability, your sitting style, the way you open your mouth, understanding about the sound comes under voice culture .
2. Music appreciation:- music appreciation is more about appreciating the music which your learning because without appreciating the subject there is no point to going forward for it.
3. Class timing:- classes will be maximum for 1 hr to 45 min. and will be more about music appreciation with voice culture. ( Applicable for all age groups specially for beginners).
I started teaching few years ago . I teach in different age group:
1. Not below then 7 yrs.
2. Not above then 60 yrs.
3. Students must be attentive towards class and must do their practice whatsoever will be told to them.
4. Students should try to record there class session on there device so they can listen it again for better improvement.
5. Classes will be one on one there are no group classes .
6. After every lesson student need send a audio or video (preferable) to me as his/her homework. Beginners can be little flexible with it but intermediate and advanced students must have to send there practice sessions to me.
7. I do not teach bollywood music so if you are looking for bollywood style music then I am not the one.
8. class cancellation rule
8.1. In a month there will be only three classes you reshecdule.( If there is exam or some vacation or any other thing which might take a long break then do inform me before a week.
8.2. Cancellation for the class should be informed 24 hours prior notice or else class will assumed to be conducted.
8.3. Urgent class cancellation will be entertained like medical issues,some urgent office meeting or some personal issue.
8.4. reshecdule a class within a month.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS BY STUDENTS:
1. How long will it take me learn?
First of all learning something new or starting it again takes its own time, it doesn't matter if student know something or dnt learning process takes its own time specially in art or performing art field student need to first understand it's basic structure or if student know it's basic structure then have to give priority to learning so student can achieve something then only student will be able to know how long will it take for them to learn.

2. How long will you take classes?
So here, classes can be more than a hour or even less then 45 mins, why ? Because it depends on what student is learning or if you are very beginner then classes will be frequent but timings might be of 40 mins because first student need to train their ears first

3. Can fees be paid in INR?
Yes fees can be paid in INR . This is the most frequent question asked by students who live abroad, so the answer is yes student can pay it in INR but as student who lives abroad have to pay in dollars which mentioned in fees structure, so the calculation is very simple you can convert dollar into inr and transfer your fees .

4. What is the course structure?
Till now there is no specified course structure because every student is different and I try to teach according to that . How much student knows or either he/she is a beginner it depends on that so the structure of learning process depends on how much student knows or what is their understanding level as I can't teach in one specific way because every student is different.

5. How many students you have taught?
Answer- Till now I have taught more than 100+ students .

    Notes- students can go monthly with their fees, wondering how when sessions are charged per session so it will work like this:
    Student will choose how many classes do they want in one week like, 1,2 or 3 and then accordingly calculate the total classes of one month and then fees per session .

Most dedicated true to Dhrupad

I have had only two lessons with Pavi so far and hope to continue further. Dhrupad is a difficult form of art and is more also a philosophy beyond the craft, she has been very patient helping me understand not only notes but also the philosophy behind, it has so far been amazing, I most sincerely recommend her as a guru of whoever wants to walk this path.
