I hold MA and PhD in economics from Georgia State University and BS in economics from San José State University. Asides from teaching, I am an applied econometrician and data scientist and I have a diverse experience across various industries. With strong academic foundation in data and statistics, I worked as a senior data scientist, CTO of financial companies, and as the researcher at private and central banks and public policy institutes.

As a university professor, I was happy to teach quantitative courses and share my knowledge. I also taught other courses, mostly in monetary economics and public finance. I love playing with data and I enjoy forecasting the most. I enjoy the most teaching econometrics and statistical inference as well as theoretical quantitative courses..

I mostly use open source technologies like Python, R, Hadoop, SQL, and I have decades of experience in flat text data and data lakes. When needed, I use other tools like SAS, Stata, Matlab, etc., and I have decades of experience in programming languages including Perl, Java, PHP, .NET, C and GNU/Linux system administration.

I published in the Journal of Comparative Economics, Eastern European Economics, Industry, etc. I am a member of The Econometric Society, The Free Software Foundation, and The Association for the Study of Eastern European Economies and Cultures.

    I matched individuals across statewide education data sets. I used advanced ML and econometric techniques to achieve high match rates across different data sources.

    I received limited VC support and (unsuccessfully tried to) set up Scientifico -- AI platform that looks at unpublished research to draw conclusions from data that are being ignored (because of the bias of academic publishing where no research with weak evidence gets published).

    I advised National Bank of Serbia and produced forecast of several key macroeconomic and financial indicators.

Overall good statistics tutor, would hire again

Nikoli is very passionate and knoweldgable about statistics. I would rate his enthusiasm a 5/5. He tries really hard to explain everything, and he was WELL PREPARED for the lesson. He reviewed the materials I sent him and read the textbook I indicated ahead of time. He's also quite nice and easy to work with.
Nikoli has a few cons: his teaching strategy is more lecture-based/demonstration, and he repeats himself sometimes.
