What makes a good teacher a great teacher? Such an essential and fundamental question, isn't it?" Teachers are in a position to have a significant influence on the students they teach. Contrary to the belief that a teacher should be a Domain EXPERT in his subject, I am of a firm opinion that the teacher should be more of a visionary coach who can shape up the student's skill. For example, A good science teacher necessarily not be a scientist but should have that vision to identify the students who can be illustrious scientists. Similarly, a good accounts teacher need not necessarily be a professional Chartered Accountant but should have that vision to identify the students who will make a competent CA. I firmly believe that a Teacher is as good as his/her student, and I share the thoughts of the learned and most sought after Indian Monk Swami Vivekananda. "There is no other teacher but your soul. No one can teach anybody. The teacher spoils everything by thinking that he is teaching. Thus Vedanta says that within man is all knowledge-even in a boy, it is so-and it requires only an awakening, and that much is the work of a teacher". I facilitate students in learning through their learning style because what is learned stays in forever, and what is taught is forgotten.
I am a fan of Warren Buffett and, in His biography Buffet: The Making Of An American Capitalist He quotes, and I share, "The difference between successful people and very successful people is that very successful person say 'no' to almost everything." This quote of his has also influenced my life: World-class is so much more about what one does not do, rather than what one does.
Mastery is so much more about seeking simplicity versus adding on layers of complexity. Virtuosos(Geniuses) do one thing well—[Ali did not play polo and Picasso did not play the piano, right?].
Finally, My Teaching or should I say facilitating style is more on Discovery Learning than Textbook Teaching.
Therefore I welcome students to come and explore my Facilitating Learning Style, and I can assure and ensure you will not be disappointed
