I am a classical singer, and have been teaching students since 5 years now. My Guru is pt. Arun Bhadury, a renowned classical artist. I have also acquired knowledge from music composer Shri Jatileshwar Mukherjee. I will be focussing primarily on the voice texture of the student and will give riyaz accordingly. Classical is a must if any other song has to be sung properly. I also teach bhajans, ghazals, rabindrasangeet and nazrulgeeti. Only making the student do riyaz is not enough, but he /she also has to know why this is so important to be a good singer. And i believe I will be able to connect my student's emotion with music which will make them not only a good singer but also they will be able to think in musical terms.

Patient, Supportive and a Great teacher

Ever since I started learning from her I can't sleep without a melody playing in my head. The best part about her is that she gives me enough space to sing and make mistakes in the class. I have met teachers who normally demoralize a student for not knowing something but in her class I don't feel demoralized at all. She tells me to sing in my own style and create my own melodies instead of just imitating her. She appreciates my efforts and that is why I feel like I can sing freely even in Indian Classical music (which I couldn't before). My mind keeps creating different melodies and aalap on its own even when I am not singing. :)
