I have been trained in the Kalakshetra style by a rich lineage of Gurus. Shri. Adyar Lakshman and his sister Smt. Nagamani Srinivasa Rao, have contributed immensely to my learning and have chiseled me to be a fine performer and teacher. I have also been fortunate to have been trained by Smt. Kalanidhi Narayan and Shri C. K. Balagopan in abhinaya. Having been brought up in Chennai, which I think is the heart of Bharathanatyam, I have had a lot of exposure to the art have been able to learn and explore this beautiful art in its purest form. I have to my credit many performances and students learning at advanced levels.

Swetha Akka teaches how to live dancing !

To be an artist, one need to have passion, dedication, hardworking mentality, talent and the right Guru. When I moved to Bangalore and wanted to pursue my dance classes, I was lucky to have approached Swetha Akka. Akka's calm and strict methods not just helped me improve my dancing, but keep the dancer within alive. I believe, beyond having strong knowledge, a teacher must hold qualities like patience, vision, dedication, love, compassion and many more. Akka is one such example of a teacher. Akka's keen interest in delivering the perfect performance certainly impacts her students positively.

I have been learning Bharathanatyam from Swetha akka for the past 6 months now. Be it a beginner or a student trying to become a professional, Swetha akka is the one who can help you grow. Patience and diligence
