I want to ensure that every student of mine has a fundamental understanding of what any debate is about and how those skills are transferable to their everyday lives. It is also a priority of mine to ensure that the student is genuinely enjoying their experience in any form of debate and is having fun!

My methodology is to ensure that the student knows the basics of debate, from understanding making an argument/claim, what qualifies that argument, and why is it important. Understanding claim/warrant/impact is the best way to build a strong foundation for debate. I will do my best to stimulate the student's thought process to ensure that they reach the answers by thinking on their own and not just simply telling them why that is the case. I really like to work based on feedback and constructive criticism by asking students to do their homework and be prepared for sessions, and I hope the students take the feedback given in one session and apply it to the next to ensure that each session can be productive and not repetitive. I will also ensure that the student works on presentational skills where they not only learn what to say, but how to deliver the information to an audience.

The best use of both my time and the students' would be to have regularly scheduled sessions where we keep building upon what is covered in a previous session to get holistic understanding of the debate and the topics we discuss.

I am always open to any questions, comments, concerns, etc. so feel free to reach out at any point!
