I am Pooja Anand. I am a musician and an educator with around 20 years of experience in teaching music to all age groups.
I have done my masters in Hindustani Classical Music from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi. I trained under the mentorship of Ustaad Jawad Ali Khan, grandson of Ustaad Bade Ghulam Ali Sahib, and performed with him as his disciple on various national platforms. My method of teaching is based on swar abhyas initially and teaching classical music, especially the concept of Raagas other than its physical form tries to bring the real essence in the internal form with the best singing styles and forms
As an All India Radio artist, I am familiar with the training and entry requirements for kids into the radio.
I also got my western music vocal training from the Delhi School of music. So having my expertise in both allows me to present and relate the concepts and terminologies of Indian and Western music easily.
I have attended the prestigious Kodály program at the Steinhardt Institute, New York University, where I learned some of the most innovative and effective teaching methods for music education geared towards children.
I also went to Berklee College of Music, Boston, extending my repertoire in advanced vocalization techniques catering to a diverse range of musical styles, including songwriting and a cappella.
I am an IB certified music teacher who has led the music department at various schools following the international curriculum.
I like to incorporate technology in her music pedagogy. I am a certified Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) and a graduate of the Electronic Music Production (EMP) program at the A.R. Rahman Academy, Chennai.

I firmly believe everyone has a sense of music, but it requires the right exposure to discover the musician! Music is a magical art that can only be mastered through committed learning and practice under the guidance of a passionate guru.
