,
We have a 6-year-old daughter Elena, who just started elementary school in Taiwan’s public school system here in Nantun District. As we now live in Taiwan, we wanted her to have the experience studying in a Taiwanese school and pick up Mandarin at a young age when it is the easiest. We however, plan to send Elena to an American school later when she enters middle or high school, and hope that she can also have a solid English education in parallel leading up to that time.
My hope is that she can also take command of the English language similar to a girl her age living in the US. So that when the time comes for her to start school in an all-English environment, she’ll be able to bridge any gaps without much difficulty.
Elena is a very cheerful and outgoing girl, she enjoys arts, music, and dance. She knows everything there is to know about Disney Princesses and still would love to hear more. It is easy for Elena to start new friendships with other young girls, even girls who only speak English. We don’t want her to lose this confidence but instead build her confidence through fluency in English.
I am ethnically Taiwanese, but had move to the States when I was 13. I am fluent in English and will also support my daughter’s English education personally so she will not have to suffer as much frustration as I did, learning English in the past.
If this is something you see yourself taking part in, feel free to reach me at *********
Cheers,
Paul
