Seeking Teachers who are open to a FULLY ONLINE, PART-TIME position teaching English to Korean students.

Tutor position available, a Korean platform which connects freelance English tutors from around the globe with students in South Korea. Based in Seoul, we offer classes designed to make the virtual learning experience easy and effective for both students and tutors.

Job Description:
• Offering a window of availability in which trial students will be able to sign up for classes with you. Based on your performance in these classes, you will be able to gradually grow your student count and working hours in our system.
• Teaching a wide range of students (elementary students to adults) through Zoom at scheduled hours (all classes are conducted online, 1 on 1).
• Teaching either 15 or 30 minute classes covering a variety of subjects based on students’ needs including: conversation, business, interviews, and preparation for English proficiency tests. All textbooks and teaching manuals will be provided to teachers.
• Completing daily and monthly reports to track progress for students (monthly reports are compensated separately from working hours)

Qualifications:
• Neutral, RP British accent highly preferred.
• Candidates with at least 1 year of teaching experience and/or worked abroad and interacted extensively with non-native speakers.
Candidates licensed (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, etc.) to teach highly preferred.
• Fully equipped with digital devices for remote work and familiar with Zoom.

Compensation:
• Payment will be calculated in US Dollars. Britmates offers an hourly rate of 14 USD per hour for total minutes taught which will be paid on a monthly basis. NO commission costs or hidden fees involved.
Working Hours / Days
Open to discussion based on teacher’s location and how it corresponds to hours in Korea.
Typically, Korean MORNINGS (7 – 11AM KST) or EVENINGS (7PM – 12AM midnight) are optimal periods of availability.

Hiring Process

- Applicants will be invited via email to teach a 15-minute demo class (material will be provided) to a Britmates representative. Based on quality demonstrated, a position may be offered. Introduction Video and Internet Speed Test may be requested as follow-up.
- Hired candidates will be asked to provide a self-introductory video and profile photo of reasonable quality for their online profiles.
