For extra credit, you can choose to write a 2-3 page paper about a contemporary connection of your choosing. You might choose to use one of the articles I’ve provided or you can choose a subject and an article on your own that you’ll connect to material from our class (if you choose something on your own, please check with me about it first to make sure it’s a reliable source and a workable topic). Questions your paper should answer include:
● What is your chosen topic--that is, provide a brief summary of what your chosen article is about and what its point of comparison in the past is
● What is the connection between your chosen issue in the present and content from our class?
○ Does the contemporary article demonstrate a move forward, a step backward, a resolution, or a new way of looking at this issue that has occurred in the past?
● What do we learn or gain from making the comparison you’ve provided?
