An economy that strives for sustainable development without causing environmental degradation is known as a "green economy." It also tries to lower ecological risks and scarcities. Although it focuses primarily on politically applicable issues, it is closely tied to ecological economics. According to the 2011 UNEP Green Economy Report, "an economy needs to be fair in addition to efficient in order to be considered green. To be fair, one must acknowledge the equity elements at both the national and international levels, especially when ensuring a just transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially inclusive economy.
